1) To dance Border Morris and whatever other styles of Morris dancing the side decides. 2) To aim for as high a standard of dance and costume as practicable. 3) To be a non-profit making organisation. 4) To be open to dancers and musicians of all ethnicities, religions, abilities, genders and sexual orientations. 5) To work as a collective where members take as much or as little responsibility as they desire. 6) Dancers are encouraged to learn an instrument so they can play when not dancing. 7) Musicians are encouraged to dance if they so desire.

A full member has danced/played out with the side and attended recent practices. In a contested case, membership is decided by simple majority of the side. There are no subscriptions, but full members join The Beeches club yearly. Under-16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. A quorum is a simple majority of the membership.

Dance personnel and set lists are decided collectively and circulated beforehand. The look is Steampunk in red, black and turquoise - red laced corsets, innovation encouraged within the colours, no face paint. Kit paid for by the side remains the side's property when a member leaves (though it may vote otherwise); personal kit stays with the member. Side equipment - sticks, drums, bells, whistles, kazoos - is returned on leaving.

The Treasurer makes accounts available on request and presents them at the AGM, held each January at a dining out. The Squire, Bagperson and Treasurer handle general administration; unresolved matters go to the whole side, whose majority decision is final. EGMs need two weeks' notice unless the matter is time-critical. All decisions by simple majority.

The side abides by the rules of the Morris Federation, through which it is insured. If the side disbands, members vote on disposing of assets, favouring donations to other sides; remaining monies go to charity or charities chosen by majority. All articles except this one may be changed by AGM or EGM at any time.
